Ella really wanted to wake up on the day of her 30th birthday celebrations, as Guy’s Wife. So along with a bedazzled party plans, Ella surprised her family and friends with a shock wedding announcement - a moment for her and Guy earlier that day with just a few close family members. No song, no dance, no crowds, no fuss; although that was to come later in the evening! With a gorgeous outfit change, Ella was to shock all of her guests of the news at her Great Gatsby themed birthday celebrations at the Sophia Prahran.
Creating the florals for the mantelpiece here was such a thrill—especially because I vividly remember studying this exact scene from The Great Gatsby back in high school. Getting to interpret an entire semester of literature into a career highlight felt like a full-circle moment.
Turns out my Year 11 teachers were right all along: you really never know when you’ll use what you’ve learned!
